Učinak pentadekapeptida BPC 157 na refluksni ezofagitis tijekom akutnog pankreatitisa [The effect of pentadecapeptide BPC 157 on reflux esophagitis during acute pancreatitis].
PhD thesis, Sveučilište u Zagrebu.
Abstract
The development of of duodenogastroesophageal reflux, it's worsening related to acute pancreatitis, and potential therapeutic effect of pentadecapeptie BPC 157 were the main goals of this research. Systemic complications of acute pancreatitis were described in numerous articles. The acute pancreatitis also badly influences digestive integrity and motility. This effects are mostly known to be developed in stomach and duodenum, while esophagus complications are poorly described and understood.
The female Wistar albino rats were used in this research. Duodenogastroesophageal reflux was induced by implanting the plastic tube through pylorus, amd acute pancreatitis by ligating main bile duct just proximally to it's entering into duodenum. The results were evaluated after 24 hours.
The effect of pentadecapeptide BPC 157 is described through the results describing macroscopical and hystological changes, the lowers esophageal sphyncter pressure, as well as macroscopic, hystologic and biochemical changes caused by acute pancreatitis.
Despite the acute pancreatitis developed, pentadecapeptide BPC 157 keeps the lower esophageal sphyncter strenght, prevents macroscopically identified esophageal changes, and protects corneal layer integrity. Although all the animals developed acute pancreatitis, the lipase serum level concentration was lower in treated animals, as well as edema and necrosis.
Abstract in Croatian
Bez obzira na akutni pankreatitis, pentadekapeptid BPC 157 održava tonus DES, sprečava nastanak makroskopski vidljivih promjena jednjaka i oštećenja integriteta rožnatog sloja sluznice jednjaka.
